Vietnam & The Three Purple Hearts
During his combat deployment, he was wounded in action during three separate engagements, receiving three Purple Heart commendations for valor and survival. Rather than allowing war to define him in bitterness, those combat experiences sharpened his empathy and instilled a profound dedication to his fellow servicemen and women.
